Let's Go Diving!
The Emerald Coast Scubaholics formed in October 2003 so
that dive enthusiasts in the Northwest Florida area could meet fellow divers and
discover new and exciting dive locations. We're growing stronger all the time. Several members are divemasters or instructors, and we
have strong participation from youth divers who share the love of
the diving with their parents.
This family club ensures the
future of scuba along the Emerald Coast for many years to come.
The Scubaholics frequently travel throughout the state of Florida to enjoy
the pleasures that the
underwater world has to offer. In January 2004, we went to Crystal River,
Florida on the club's first official trip. Club members snorkeled
with the manatees and later did a drift dive down Rainbow River. In
April, several club members enjoyed a week of diving in Tavernier,
Florida, a small dive and fishing community near Key Largo. On that
first annual trip to the Keys we dove several coral reefs and sunken
ships that are part of an artificial reef program. Also on that
trip, the Scubaholics ventured down to Key West and Margaritaville, which
was made famous by the legendary singer/song writer Jimmy Buffet.
When the club isn't traveling, we do a variety of Gulf dives and
explore the numerous freshwater springs in the Panhandle and central
Florida. To see what trips and other events we have coming up, visit our

Calendar
Monthly meetings are held to discuss upcoming dive trips, new technology and safety issues. The meetings are also opportunities for members to learn about advanced and specialty certifications, and we do manage to have some fun, as well! Membership in the club is open to all levels of diving experience. The only pre-requisite is that you love the underwater world and the fellowship of other divers. To learn more, send us an email. We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting!
